When Liam didn't come right back, I walked to the bedroom to see what was going on. I found him lying down with Alexandria. He was rubbing her swollen belly while whispering in her ear, and there was no missing the pleased smile on her face.
As soon as he noticed me leaning against the door frame, Liam pecked a kiss on her cheek, then he climbed off the bed and walked toward me. The second he stepped out of the bedroom, he closed the door before he grabbed my hand and led me back to the living room.
We both plopped down on the couch, then he anxiously explained, "I'm glad you're here, Brady. It's been an especially trying month. Just when Alexandria was starting to gain her confidence back, Chester kidnapped her again."
