The leather bound books I scanned through hadn't been completely useless. Although I was tied to Rickon, I was not tied to his pack. Because I was an outsider and non human I held no loyalty to anyone else but him, this was why such pairings were forbidden. The wolf had to reject any outsider before forming the bond completely, but Rickon's brutish ways had led him to be careless and he marked me before even knowing what I was.
I ran towards the mansion letting my new limbs carry me as fast as they wanted. I heard Rickon struggling to keep up with me which only fed into my satisfaction. When I arrived at the footsteps of the mansion I stopped, taking in a deep breathe I focused on turning back. Once again my bones contorted and snapped until I laid there with two legs and two arms as the beautiful immortal creature I was.
I walked into the house with my head high ignoring my naked body as I gracefully walked to my room. I didn't bother to close the door, I heard Rickons steps walking behind quietly. I crawled into my bed slowly, turning around, spreading my arms to help me sit up with my legs crossed ever so slightly, pushed up towards my chest.
There were times I must admit during my missions that I had to go deep undercover. Men were weak when an attractive woman showed any interest, they lost their mind more when they saw them naked. I had never let any of them touch me or get close to me but I had distracted them very effectively.
I tilted my head up and stared at Rickon who was emotionless, not something I was used to I will admit. He stared at me, finally letting out a growl after a few seconds. "Well?" I asked completely unbothered by his disapproval. His lip twitched slightly as he stood at the end of the bed. His savage green eyes were gone and once again his blue eyes held their sway.
"I find it hard to believe you don't know where you come from or who you are." His nose flared as he said the words. His face hardened and his body became rigid.
"I don't but whatever I am, clearly I am the superior species." I taunted, rolling my eyes trying to fake sympathy.
"Let's hope you get your memory back then." He looked so pathetic, he actually believed me.
I let out a long deep sigh, it was time to get down to business. I effortlessly got off the bed and walked towards the closet to grab some clothes. After I dressed myself I sat back down on the bed, "We should talk about boundaries."
"Tegan, you killed Midnight." He said angrily, strained wrinkles appeared on his impeccable face.
"Good, if I can't kill you then I'll kill everyone around you." I said in a very calm and matter of fact voice.
"I fought many battles with him, he was not someone to be taken out so easily."
"I hope you have better warriors than that then, I am surprised this pack hasn't been taken over yet."
"You have committed treason of the highest, punishable by death." His words echoed in the room but they meant nothing to me.
"You're going to tell your mutt pack that he was attacked by rouges or another supernatural creature. Any other being would suffice given yours is at the bottom of the totem."
"Watch your words Tegan, you are part of that low totem barbaric species now." He scoffed knowing that it would strike a nerve.
I didn't react outwardly although inside I was cursing him. Yes, he had turned me into a beast and there was no going back but unbeknownst to him he had also given me back my abilities. "So how do you plan on killing me Rickon? If you accuse me of treason you will certainly have to follow through lest you be stripped of your title." I knew he wouldn't accuse me or otherwise he would have tried to apprehend me by now.
"Besides mating with a non human or pack member any other species is forbidden. YOU have committed treason not I. This pack does not hold its sway on me." I folded my arms on my lap, relaxing into the bed. I knew I had him in a corner, as I had previously mentioned to him I was the one who led not followed.
He slowly walked over to a painting of a large wooden boat battling a raging sea. He touched it slightly running his fingers over the canvas. "I was abroad this ship destined for Scottland a millennia ago. I was imprisoned in an iron maiden, every wave that hit the boat caused me great pain. The common folk had become frightened of my species and wanted to eradicate us. I sacrificed myself to ensure the survival of my pack." He turned around and looked at me with disdain in his now black eyes.
"I suffered greatly then, I was imprisoned for centuries paying for the sin of being who I was, something I had never had a choice in. I was taken from my kingdom and turned into the beast before you, most humans who are bitten don't survive but I did. I cursed my immortality for centuries, it carried a great burden.
"I was born a king and I will not die a slave. It would seem Tegan, you have bested me and I commend you for that. Our mating was meant to be, we are both worthy leaders. One, an old tired king and the other a tactical lethal immortal. I sacrificed my body for my people and a pack of beasts and I will do it again, you have my word that I will not touch you." His naked stalky body walked closer to me swiftly.
"I will introduce you the pack as soon as possible. You can stay in the safety of the pack as an equal to me." His eyes turned back to their icy blue and a grin spread across his brutish face.
"I accept Rickon the wolf king." I smiled triumphantly, "But to be clear we will never be equal I will always be above you, however I will let you have your pride with the pack."
His grin disappeared and instead he pouted, knowing I had driven him into another corner. He ran his fingers through his braids and let out a deep sigh, "Of course." He said before walking out of the room.
