Rickon led me to a room located underneath the house. As we walked down the hallway I felt dirty, he had defiled my body in such ways that shamed me. I pushed the guilty feelings back and followed him to a hidden room. When I walked in I was greeted with a stale smell of old books, cobwebs on the corners of the ceiling. The room was big, leather bound books decorated the walls that were stained a green color.
Rickon walked over to a table in the middle of the room, dragging his feet. He looked over at me with a smile, tenderness behind it. "I will have to introduce you to the rest of the pack soon." He happily stated, half hoping I would be interested. I ignored him instead and walked past him to the books behind his . I brushed my fingers on the spines of the ancient books reading the titles carefully.
"Your transformation is tonight, you should be getting some rest instead of reading these old books." Rickon's voice was flat but stern. I sighed annoyed at the reminder of the full moon tonight, I already felt sick how much more worse could it get? I threw the books down on the floor in frustration not finding them helpful at the moment. There wasn't enough time for me to scathe myself out of this, the odds were against me. Rickon glared at the books on the ground before looking at me quizzically.
He walked towards me and grabbed my arm pulling me out of the room harshly. I tried to pull back but my strength was still not back which prompted him to easily pull me down the hallway. I kicked and I thrashed as he dragged me but I couldn't pull away. When we finally got to my room he threw me on the ground. "Get up." He ordered but when I remained on the floor he pulled me up forcefully and threw me again. I hit the bed hard and glared at him as he stood over me. He threw a book between my legs before he sighed and left the room.
It was an antique book, wrapped in leather it had been worn some bit. I picked it up an walked to the desk in the room with a chair, I sat down and flipped through the pages. It was a history book on werewolves just what I was looking for, My fingers stopped on a chapter about mating and I scanned it carefully.
'A mate is a bonding for life that cannot be broken except in death. When the male counter part finds his mate the insatiable lust begins and the mating frenzy comes forth. The male counterpart cannot hold back as it is written in his blood to mark his mate immediately to let all others know she is his. He will take his mate regardless of circumstances this is to ensure the procuration of the race, especially during the full moons the males cannot hold back their hunger for their mates. The mating process is barbaric and animalistic as is all other life forms on our mother earth. There is no breaking this bond, it is inevitable, both parties will be tied together for life. '
I threw the book on the floor scathing at its ridiculous words. I felt like a failure as it was, knowing that I was no longer pure and untouched. The anger inside over took me and I broke the desk next to my bed. My weakened state had put me in a dire predicament.
"I can't help what I am nor my cravings Tegan." I heard Rickon's distant voice across the room, he had entered the room at some point as I read the pages.
"Your barbaric ways know no bounds, I will not be part of it!" I sneered back hatred behind my low voice. He rushed next to me and held me by the waist nuzzling his face in the crook of my neck. I pulled back and slapped him across his face hoping to draw blood, he glared at me as he messaged his jaw.
"What are you?" He asked again only to get an annoyed chuckle from me.
"I do not remember, I just am that is all I know." In fact I was a bigger monster than him, my wrath knew no bounds either. A sour feeling touched my tongue as I realized I was comparing my ways to that of a mutt. I walked past him to the bathroom, I so desperately need a shower.
The smell of sweat and blood had been nauseating me and I needed to scrub it away. I turned on the water feeling it warm up and immediately hoped in eager to wash myself off. I could hear his heavy foot steps creep into the bathroom.
"Leave me be creature." I sneered through the waterfall of hot water.
"I will introduce you tomorrow after your transformation." His voice was very matter of fact. I rolled my eyes at his words completely indifferent. After he left I finally relaxed and enjoyed my hot shower. When I stepped out I felt re freshed and clean. I walked to my bed where I picked up the book once again.
I scanned the pages once again but no where did I find a loop hole out of this. I rubbed my temples in frustration not wanting to give up. My head began throbbing and I felt a tiredness I had never felt before. I slumped on my bed for a nap, when I awoke it was dark outside. I opened my window to see the moon peeking out from the milky clouds.
I looked down only to see we were three stories up. I perched on the window and looked down making sure no one was below. I kicked off and jumped out the wind landing on my two feet, my strength and agility had been restored during my nap. I walked cautiously looking over my shoulder, avoiding any stalking eyes.
I reached the tree line and bolted towards it disappearing in the thick forest.
