My heart pounded as I stared into her eyes. It was now or never.
“I know I’ve screwed up. I know I’ve hurt you and I know saying sorry isn’t quite good enough,” I said. Vanessa continued to watch me, and I could feel the others hovering. Listening in on our conversation. “If you don’t mind,” I said to them.
“Right…let’s go, ladies,” Naomi said, and there was a flurry of activity as they hurriedly left. As soon as Vanessa and I were alone, I continued.
“My priorities may seem messed up, but when we last spoke, I knew…I finally knew that you understood and that…and that made me realize that what we had. What we have is worth fighting for. You are worth fighting for…please, Vanessa. Please don’t move…don’t leave,”
