Vanessa The late afternoon sunlight streamed through the large windows of Mandy's living room, casting long shadows across the wooden floor. The room was cozy, filled with mismatched but well-loved furniture. I was seated on the plush beige couch with my legs tucked underneath me. I stared into the half-empty cup of tea and sighed. The steam rose lazily, almost as if it was reluctant to leave the warmth of the cup. Mandy was seated across from me in the big armchair, and she was staring.
