Chapter 4

Michelle rushed out of Pascal's office, exiting the secretariat office and entering the elevator. She went down to the ground floor, not looking at the staff who were looking at her with pity. She cried, going back to her car in the parking lot to drive home. Kaleb exited Pascal's office and rushed out of the building. He swiftly got into the elevator and went down to the car park to catch up with Michelle. "Wait, Michelle!" He tried to stop her, waving for her to wait, but she entered her car, started the engine, and zoomed off, driving out of the company at full speed. "Dammit! Michelle!!" Kaleb called, catching his breath and watching Michelle's car take off. He looked back at the company building and went back to see Pascal. In Pascal's office, Pascal was so disappointed in Fiona as silence ensued between them after Kaleb and Michelle left the room. "I'm so disappointed in you, man! How can you cheat on Michelle with this woman?" Kaleb yelled at Pascal, who was still stunned to find out the truth that he had been married to the real Williams heiress. Yet, his greed led him to cheat on her and believe Fiona. Fiona tried to speak, still standing in Pascal's office. "Babe.. Mary just lied to you.." "Don't call me that!" Pascal snapped, yelling at Fiona. "You deceived me?" He growled, rushing over to meet her. He grasped her neck and started beating her. "How could you lie to me, Fiona? You lied about my wife's identity being fake, and I foolishly believed you," Pascal beat up Fiona, and Kaleb rushed to separate them, seeing that none of the staff cared to interfere. "Pascal, I am pregnant with your child!" Fiona announced, wanting to use the opportunity to win Pascal. But he kicked her hard on the floor, and she winced in pain, clutching her belly. "To hell with your pregnancy, Fiona! I am not the father of that bastard you're carrying. You liar and witch! Get out of my office before I kill you with my bare hands!" Pascal yelled, and Fiona felt a sharp pain in her stomach, but she stood up and left in shame, knowing that Pascal wasn't joking. Pascal clutched his head in shame. "How do I fix this? How do I beg Michelle to forgive me? She caught me cheating on her, bro. My wife.. she saw me balls deep in Fiona's cave," Pascal lamented, his hands on his head, thinking about how he would pacify Michelle. "I warned you, Pascal. I told you not to cheat on Michelle with Fiona. After you told me that you like Fiona and cannot resist her. Why would you do this to Michelle? Let's pray that she doesn't hurt herself," Kaleb said, turning to leave Pascal's office, but Pascal's words stopped him. "Did you know that Michelle was the real heiress of the Williams family?" Pascal asked, unable to believe why Michelle would lie to him about her true identity. "If she truly does love me, she should have told me the truth that her family was alive, and she was the real Michelle Williams." "Like you would believe her if she told you. You heard her say that she was in search of true love, and that was why she left her family. For the records, I had no idea who she is. I only like her and admire to date," Kaleb said, and Pascal glared at him. "Don't you dare to think that you can get my wife, Kaleb? You should stay away from Michelle!" Pascal yelled, glaring at Kaleb, who laughed out and said, "You should be the one to stay away from Michelle, Pascal. You told her to my face that you want a divorce. This will be the best time for you to divorce her. Besides, Fiona is pregnant with your child." "Shut up, Kaleb! I am going to kill you before you think that you can have my wife. Michelle Williams is mine and mine alone!" Pascal glared at Kaleb from his office chair, and Kaleb laughed out loudly. "Let's see about that, Pascal. I am not in a hurry to have your woman. I only told you the truth that I like Michelle, but I was keeping boundaries because she loves you. If I don't see you two getting back, then I will try to have her before another man with sense and value does. Take care. I will come back for our business deal later, knowing that your head is messed up right now." Kaleb smirked and left Pascal's office, and the latter frowned. "No! How did I lose a rare gem in search of silver? What did Fiona do to me? I need to get her arrested for lying to me and my wife," Pascal lamented once more. He swiftly grabbed his briefcase, shut down his computer, and left his office. Stepping out, all the staff lowered their heads in shame, still remembering the epic sight they had witnessed earlier. "Ms. Loretta, tell Gabriel that I have left for home," Pascal said, wanting to leave, but Loretta's words stopped him. "Sir, I would like to resign from my position as your secretary." "What?!" Pascal spun around and looked at her. "And why do you want to resign now?" He asked, trying to contain his anger. "My fiancé..he called me, thinking that I am also having an affair with you in your office since I'm working closer to you. He told me to resign unless he will call off our engagement.. I'm sorry, sir, but some staff already spread the rumors online, and I have to quit." Loretta exited the office, grabbed her handbag, and left. Pascal stood there looking at her. Once she was done turning off her computer, she left. Gabriel came out of his office that was just next to Pascal. "Sir, I have contacted the PR to take down all the trending reports about you, but the situation has already made its way to the top trend in the city." Pascal frowned and asked Gabriel, "So are you also resigning too? Let me know." "No, sir. I cannot leave the Thompson Group just because you made a mistake. We will see how we can try to fix the mess," Gabriel said, showing his honesty and respect for Pascal, even after the embarrassment Pascal had brought upon himself. "It's fine. I will be going home now to see if I can resolve the issue with Michelle. I was fooled by her best friend.. Fiona lied to me and used me, and now, I don't even know where to start from." Pascal looked so sad, and Gabriel told him, "Take it easy, boss.. You will get over it." "That's fine. Take care too, and thank you." Pascal immediately exited the top floor, entering the elevator. He recalled when his new company was under construction. Michelle had helped him to fix it, and he wondered how she got the huge money that she gave him to finish the company project, and it even helped the company to get many new partners. "I should have known then that Michelle was the real heiress of the Williams family. How dare she lie to me," Pascal muttered to himself. Getting out of the elevator which stopped on the first floor, he got out and went to his car. Getting into the driver's seat, Pascal took his phone and tried calling Michelle's number again. "Pick up, babe," he said nervously, but there was no sign of Michelle answering his calls. Pascal tried calling Michelle's phone number three times, but the phone call couldn't connect. Sighing, Pascal ignited his car and drove back home, hoping that by the time he arrived, he would get to see Michelle. His heart beat loudly in his chest, recalling the weight of his guilt. His sin. He had been sleeping with Fiona, and yet, he hardly did so with his wife. "What is wrong with me? Why did I allow the devil to enter into my marriage? I am going to get Fiona arrested for this," Pascal said, driving ahead to his luxury mansion. Upon his arrival, Pascal drove his car into his mansion. He got out, grabbed his briefcase, shut the door, and hurriedly went into the white duplex to find Michelle, but he met an empty house. "Michelle! Michelle!!" Pascal called her name like a madman losing his mind.
