“Dakota, calm down.”
“I am calm.”
“Dakota, we are just...” Austin says but can’t seem to find the words.
“...talking.” Nathan finishes.
“I am not stupid. I know I tend to brush things off but I am not stupid.” I am now getting angry.
“We never said you were.” Brenda says.
“But you all treat me like I am.”
“No, that's not it sweetheart.” Austin says.
“Then what? What is it?”
They all look at each other.
“What do you think it is we are hiding?” Brenda asks.
“I don’t know! That’s why I am asking you.”
“But if you could take a guess, is there anything that would come to your mind?” She asks.
(What comes to mind? I don't f*****g know.)
“You are all really pissing me off.” I say.
“There is nothing we are hiding, Dakota.” Austin says.
