I look at him and remember what he went through.
“Are you okay?” My face can’t hide the pained expression.
He comes close and hugs me. “Yes. I’m fine.”
“I hated that. I never want to see you suffer like that again.”
“I know. You won’t. I’ll become stronger. I’ll keep you safe and you’ll never have to see something like that again. I’m sorry. I'm sorry that I let this happen to you.”
