I am screaming “this can’t be happening!” in my head. It can’t be a coincidence that Storm and Luise are both here, kneeling before a hostile court.
This can only mean one thing, but how? I made sure to discard all the evidence. It was just the three of us in my office when I asked them.
I make eye contact with both of them before turning to Xael. They look terrified.
“What is going on?”
Xael shoots daggers at me. Fiona is the one who responds. “I will tell you what is going on, you witch!”
My anger immediately rises. I can feel Diana imploding. I usually let her be, not today. I can take anything they throw at me, but don’t touch my friends. Maybe I have finally reached my limit.
“I was not talking to you. Know your place.”
