Xena looks questioningly at me. Is she trying to hide this from me again?
“You have been strengthening our finances and testing our kids. You have done this before,” I point out. “You are not dying on me, are you?”
My voice is barely audible as I ask. I can’t lose my mate.
“What? Xael, what are…”
Xena is still speaking when Amy runs in already teary. She must have heard my question.
“You are dying? How can you be dying?”
“I am not dying,” Xena responds to Amy before turning to me. “Seriously? You are always in my head, you would know this,” she rebukes me. That’s true but I did not know that she has footage of R-pack until today.
“Dad?” Xaden questions worriedly and everyone turns to me. They all want me to confirm, and I can’t. At least not yet.
