Xaden and Xylon’s welcoming ceremonies last over a week. I feel so guilty as I watch Xael run around with Xaden in the courtyard. My boy’s heartily giggles tell me how wrong I was. He has always loved his father, yet I kept them apart for over a year.
I must have gotten lost in my guilt because I get startled by his strong arms snaking around my waist.
“Can’t keep your eyes off your husband, huh?”
I can’t help but laugh, the seemingly innocent light kisses he is planting on my neck already doing his will.
He chuckles when I gasp. He knows this pull he has on me.
“Xylon is asleep. Carl is taking Xaden to visit Daniel.”
“Mmh,” is all I can manage to say before he whisks me off my feet and strides to our chambers.
I am woken up by my constantly ringing phone two hours later.
