It is easy to convince our family and friends to scare off the Golden queens’ family. Xena partnering with the Golden queen is a nightmare for me. I can’t let her face those witches again. She almost died the last time. She lays in my arms at night and rolls her eyes when I apologize.
“You know that I can’t stay angry with you. Let’s just sleep.”
I watch her drift off to sleep. I might have postponed her facing those witches, but I know her. She will still do it. That is why I have decided to do it first.
The Epsilons lead us to the entrance of the Deep. The ground opens up before they could do anything.
“They were waiting for us. It is a trap!” my Epsilon cries.
We roll down in a spiral web and find ourselves trapped in a big bubble. So much for hunting down the witches.
