His command

1285 Words
Xael I don’t know how Gwen got to my study. I suspect Fiona let her in. She is getting on my nerves now. My relationship with Xena is already strained. I have just managed to reassure her and now this. I know that I should push Gwen away when she runs into my arms, but I can’t. Clint has taken over. He loves our mate and basks in her scent, while Xena walks away. She is mad again. I have just broken one of her conditions to limit physical contact with Gwen. Damn it! “Get your act together, you i***t!” I snap at Clint the moment I take over. “I am a wolf. I love mate.” He is right. His instincts will choose Gwen, but I can’t accept that, not when there is so much at stake. “Do you want us to lose Xena and Diana?” “No!” This stupid wolf even snaps at me. “Then get your act together with Gwen or I will personally send her away,” I threaten and he concedes. “Fine.” That should keep him in check. Xena completely ignores me when I call her. I can feel her rage. I am not surprised by her words at court. I make my stand clear to the pack. She might be angry and does not trust me right now, but she is the only Luna I am prepared to ever have. I have no other choice but make her look like a nagging Luna. It’s the only way I know that would ensure that the council accepts Gwen into the pack. Her reaction is worse than I expected. She has never spoken about her true mate until now. Clint and I are now freaking out and she has shut us out. That is never a problem when Diana is our side, but she is fuming too. I preemptively lock her old bedroom and keep all the keys before assigning guards to tail her. I know her. I can’t risk her leaving me. Four days later, she has not calmed down. She sleeps facing away from me and only talks to Xaden and the maids. I wish I can know what she is thinking. It is just after eight in the morning when I head to the dining hall and curse inside when I hear Gwen’s voice. I have specifically warned her to stay away. Xena is unpredictable when angry. What is she doing here? “You are being difficult and mean,” I hear Fiona complain. “You can both go jump,” Xena responds to her. The two have been fighting a lot lately. It does not help that Fiona is now very close to Gwen. I usually stay out of it, but Gwen is involved, and I can’t afford any confrontation between her and Xena. “Xael, speak to your Luna, she is being unreasonable,” Fiona complains the moment she sees me. I flinch when Gwen runs to my arms and inhales. She quickly apologizes and takes a few steps away from me, but the damage is already done. “What is going on?” I ask. Xena does not even look at me. It’s like I don’t exist to her anymore. “Gwen and I wanted to take the helicopter for sight-seeing at the waterfalls today, but Xena won’t let us,” Fiona reports with misty eyes. “I know that she hates me. I just wanted to see the waterfalls,” Gwen adds with a shaky voice. Xena still does not say anything. The waterfalls are our tourist attraction site. I don’t get why she would prevent Gwen from seeing them. “Why do you need her permission for this?” I ask, confused and notice Xena clench her jaw. My question is making her angry for some reason. Fiona turns to Xena and smirks. “You heard Xael, give me the keys,” she demands, while Xena looks uninterested at her. “Give me the helicopter keys,” Fiona demands again. I am still trying to figure out how and when Xena ended up with the keys for the tourist helicopter when she responds. “You are not getting the keys no matter whom you ask. You can cry your lungs out and even die throwing a tantrum. You will not get the keys.” “Xael,” Gwen turns to me, raising my protective instincts. Xena is really being petty now. Anyone can go and see the waterfalls, yet she refuses to let Gwen see them. “Not even your mate can help you.” Her response strikes a nerve. I was going to let her have her way and convince Gwen to do something else, but she is pushing my buttons. “Give them the keys,” I use my Alpha voice to command her. I must remember to find out from our tourism Beta why Xena now controls who visits the waterfalls. Her nostrils flare, her chest rises and falls as she takes deep breaths before getting on her feet and grabbing her purse. I instinctively pull Gwen behind me. Xena is a hell of a fighter. Even our best warriors have nothing on her. Diana is ferocious and lethal when angry. She is fuming right now, and I don’t get why. She was being petty. She roughly opens her bag, takes out a bunch of keys and throw them at me before storming out. I don’t know when Fiona ran to also hide behind me. She knows Xena well too. “You need to do something about her, Xael. She is out of control. She will hurt Gwen if you are not careful,” Fiona tells me, while Gwen looks at me with a terrified expression. I clench my fists and fight the edge to follow her. This woman is really pushing me. I can hear the wheels squeak outside and she speeds out of the castle. Carl raises his eyebrows when I walk out. He must have met her on his way in. “Don’t ask,” I say when he opens his mouth. He shakes his head, and I tell him what happened. He is also just as confused by her actions. “She is becoming impossible.” I never thought a day would come where I complain about Xena. She and I used to gel so well. “You can’t really blame her, My Alpha,” he points out. Carl is one person who will always tell me the truth no matter how painful or insulting and I appreciate it. “I know that this situation with Gwen is difficult, but she is really pushing my buttons. I have told her my reasons for everything. I have chosen her, yet she does not believe me. She has shut me out.” “I get your frustration but put yourself in her shoes. You found your mate and did not reject her. Her decision not to accept Gwen to the pack was overruled by the council and Gwen is always around you. Your night visits to her are not helping either.” “I am not doing anything wrong. You know that!” I snap at him, and he smiles. “I do, and I understand why you are doing things this way, but she does not.” “She would if she stopped being stubborn and let me in. My mind is always open for her to read, yet she refuses to.” We are still talking when Fiona and Gwen leave for the waterfalls. It is two hours later when my command comes back to bite me…
