Reluctant, she finally answered it, knowing she would have to speak to him sooner or later.
“Hello, how are you?” She enquired.
“Finally, I thought you’re mad at me or something,” He replied in relief from the other end.
“No, I was just a bit occupied with….work,” Taylor replied and bit her nail.
“Is she giving you a hard time?” Chase changed in tone.
“Not really,” Taylor sighed. “I can manage…” She assured him.
“Hmm…You okay?” He asked after a moment of silence.
“Of course, what could possibly disturb me?” Taylor faked a laugh and noticed Maddie walking in.
Maddie looked at her and asked in sign language whom she was talking to.
“Right!..So, how are things at home? How’s your granny?” Chase enquired.
