Rejecting my mate was the most humiliating and soul shattering experience I have ever gone through. Seeing others enjoy the pain Lucas and I were in, made it even worse. And despite it not being a real rejection, some days it definitely feels worse than that. As a result of a real rejection, I figure you get the chance to heal, in time, but knowing that your soul mate is out there and you can't be together, you can't even see each other, it's excruciating, and it can drive a person mad.
