40. A resounding Discovery

I opened my eyes and almost immediately everything came to me, the rush of memories pulled me to jump out of bed almost immediately. But I could only manage to sit up. My vision looked blurry, but the familiar scent of bleach and the beep of a heart monitor reels me back to another memory.
“Martina?”
“I’m here” She answered. She’s sitting on her usual chair with a new book in her hands. Nonchalant and calm, but I see the tightness she holds her book. She’s happy.
“Wh-Why am I here?”
She snapped her book close and stepped towards me with an expression that I was all serious and that I almost took a step back if I could. Her practiced hands touched my arm and checked the IV that existed there.
