The silver light explodes outward from her, washing over the entire valley. The corrupted guards scream and dissolve. The dark vortex of the node shudders, flickers, And reverses. I feel it. It's pure magical energy, a wave that knocks everyone to the ground. When I can see again, the node is gone. The corrupted guards are gone. The wrongness in the air is gone. And Erica is lying motionless on the ground, silver light still flickering around her like dying embers. "ERICA!" I scramble to her, shifting back to human form. "Erica, please—" Her eyes open. Still silver, but fading back to green.
