It felt strange to wake up and realize that our little girl was home. I rushed into her room to check that she was there when the fear hit that it could all have been a horrible dream! The chapter that started on the day I caught Conner and Emily in bed together was finally over!
I smiled as soon as I saw my little girl and instantly had her in my arms. Breathing in her scent as I cuddled her, it calmed my racing heart. I was scared at first that she might not recognize me as her mother. She was taken from me shortly after she was born.
Thankfully, she didn’t fuss much. It was almost as if she knew who I was. Or she was just a good baby. Carrying her on my hip, I smiled as I walked next door to find our son screaming at the top of his lungs while he was getting dressed.
