I had never been this nervous in my entire life! I knew she wouldn’t shift. I hoped she would, but I knew she wouldn’t. She was standing beside her friends who were all shifting at the same time, but in her eyes, I saw her anxiety.
Dani had been stressing about this day ever since the first time she had a vision. After Michael made his speech, everyone held their breath while the moonlight slowly made its way up into the sky. When the time came, all the kids started screaming in pain.
