I was nervous, but as time ticked by, I grew more confident about the pregnancy. We found out that our baby was a girl and Michael and I grew more excited about our little one. Michael spent more time at home with me to prepare for the birth, and to prepare her bedroom.
We had just passed the three-month mark when things started taking a turn. I woke up in the early hours of the morning with a very upset stomach. By early afternoon, I was booked into the hospital. I was placed on a bed with my head lower than my legs!
It was the most uncomfortable position I had ever been in, but I would grit and bear it if it meant my little one could stay inside just a little longer. I was far enough along that her chances of survival were pretty good, but nobody wanted to bet on pretty good.
