Chapter 26

1036 Words
THE KING He has Lord Walton exactly where he wants him. The training that he had as a young boy now comes back to him in detail and he knows he needs to be a soldier right now, not a King. He needs to make his enemy weak and don't let his heart get involved in this personal betrayal. He needs to make him, even more, angrier than what he is now. He tries to think of how he would feel if somebody would say something to insult his father. "Yes, your father was a disgrace to humanity and he was not worth the ground that my feet had to walk on" He watches as Lord Walton comes for him. It is as if he is coming in slow motion. He can see Lord Walton's every step that he takes and how he lifts his hand while making it in a fist, ready to hit him through his face. He feels as the pain from the impact of Lord Walton's fist sends a shock down to his core. He was expecting some pain from his fist but this is a bit more painful than what he thought Lord Walton would be able to give. He feels as blood leaves his mouth and splat on the floor. He looks down on the floor at the blood and then smiles while looking at Lord Walton. Even though the pain from his hit, still radiates clearly on his cheek, he knows he needs to make him even angrier. "Is that the best that you can do? Hitting me while I'm tied up? Why not even out the playing field?" "I am definitely not an i***t. I have done my homework with you. I know that you have been trained with the best of the best" "Oh, so what you are saying is that you are afraid? That you are a coward and that you are not able to defend your father's honor?" Then he hit him one more time on the same cheek in the same place. The King can not help this time not letting out a low groan that escapes his mouth as the pain is almost unbearable. But Lord Walton was right when he said that he has trained with the best of the best. And the best has taught him not to show his pain and to get the enemy to do what you want him to do. "Ah, a true act of a coward. You do not deserve to be called your father's son. He would be very disappointed in you because you did not defend his honor" "Why don't you just shut up?" The King is very aware of the fact that another hit is coming. He braces himself as he hit him once again. Then after he recovers from the hit, he smiles again at Lord Walton. "You know, the notorious Shane Walton would not condone this kind of behavior. He would have expected his son to become a man and fight like a man. Because your father never run away from a fight like you are doing right now" Then Lord Walton walks closer to the King and he is sure that another blow is coming. But this time he takes out his knife and walks closer to the King. The King swallows deeply as he knows whatever he's going to do with that knife is going to be very painful. So, he braces himself but then Lord Walton walks around him and cuts the ropes off his hands. The King quickly stands up and rubs his wrists where the ropes were holding his hands tied together. Then he wipes the blood from his mouth and makes sure to leave a nice space between him and Lord Walton. The King has analyzed the room and knows that it is only he and Lord Walton in the room. He has achieved what he wanted to achieve. He wanted Lord Walton to untie him and have a one-on-one fight with him. "Are you ready to lose Lord Walton?" "I never lose" The King remembers one specific move that he was taught on how to eliminate your enemy immediately. He does not have to engage in combat he just needs to get access to his neck. "Then, come closer, and let's end this" "I do not think that you will win, sire and even if you somehow achieve that, your kingdom will still fall" The King listens to what he is saying and he can not help but wonder if this thing is going much deeper than just about Lord Walton's vendetta. LADY WINTERS You stand in the hall listening to the ramblings of the princess. You feel like a prisoner enslaved by a mentally challenged queen and you wish you can just turn around and walk away. But if you try to attempt this she might let you be the first one to be her lady in waiting for the day. You know that you already have a target on your back as you are not exactly someone who listens to what she has to say. You are probably the only lady-in-waiting that has almost gone against everything she said that you are supposed to do. You do not have a problem with authority but when the authority is younger than you are and not always consistent in what they want you to do, then why you should be under that kind of authority? "...so starting tomorrow some lucky lady will start to follow me and that lady is...Lady Winters you may have the first honor..." You can not describe the feeling that is running through your veins right now. It is a mixture of anger and frustration. You try and smile as you walk closer to the princess while everyone is staring at you. They look at you with eyes of adoration as if they would have like to be the first lady. You on the other hand wish you can throw away that honor. "Congratulations, Lady Winters. I will see you bright and early tomorrow morning. I expect you to be ready to learn what it means to be a lady-in-waiting"
