The following morning, Abby woke up a bit early. She felt ruffled up and tired but wanted to go to school and catch up on what she had missed the whole time she was in New York.
She checked her phone and there were around ten messages from Kayla asking where she was and if she was okay. She ignored the messages and locked her phone, walked to her vanity mirror, and that was when she saw the note. It was from Lucas. She quickly sat on her chair to read it; excitement written all over her face.
Hey, sleeping beauty, you fell asleep even before we got halfway through the movie. I should have stayed but your mom came in a bit earlier than I expected. So, I had to leave too. I guess I will see you at school and meet me at our usual spot. I have a present for you.
