The soft hum of the club’s music vibrated through the walls, pulsing low like a heartbeat. Lights shifted in red and blue as Lucy slipped quietly out of the main floor and into the hallway that led to the restrooms. Her heels clicked against the tiles, the sound almost lost beneath the muffled bass. She pushed open the door and stepped into the bathroom.
