The silence in the room is what drains me, it's so quiet that I can hear Jared's low breathing from across from me, and I can't seem to think about what he proposed. "It's a joke, right?" I finally muster up the courage to speak. I was silenced by the whirlwind of emotions coursing through me, and there's no way that he was serious. I start to smile, convinced that it's just a joke, but Jared just stares at me with utmost seriousness, and my lips part as I stare at him baffled, "Jared, how..that would never work." I scoff, pressing my fingers against my head as I try to wrap all of this around my brain.
