JARED'S POV -- After an hour of crying in my arms last night, she finally fell asleep, and I put her into my bed. She was knocked out from all of the crying. She didn't even stir when I picked her up or put her into bed, but I woke up to an empty bed beside me, the sun barely shining. There's a soft shimmer of light that cascades into the room from behind the curtains that are lightly blown forth and pulled back. I listen to the water running from the bathroom, and I prop myself up onto my elbows. I rub the sleep from my eyes with my palm, and my eyes flicker back at the open bathroom door before I lean over to the bedside table, turning on the light of the wooden lamp.
