Phillip made his way down to the front door of the castle. He found the duke of Marinne still there in the foyer having a heated exchange with the butler about seeing the Grand King as his luggage was being taken up. Phillip stopped a few paces away from them and listened to their conversation. It sounded like the duke desperately wanted to see the Grand King. But the butler was refusing him.
“I really need to see him,” the duke was saying.
“The Grand King has already retired, your Grace. I will tell him of your arrival first thing in the morning,” the butler said refusing politely.
