Grim I waited for Lily in the hallway, holding fresh, hot food and the biggest cup of coffee I could find, just for her. She hadn’t eaten all day. And I knew she needed everything I could give her for comfort. I had more waiting back at the bakery, too. But I thought something warm and light would be good for now. I was still reeling from the way she respectfully bowed to every single one of my werewolves, touching their hearts in a way she would never understand, while also worrying about how things were going with her father, when a human approached me. My patience was already worn thin. Even my werewolves have given me space, noticing the terrible mood I was in. I wanted Lily. Needed her near. And the longer she was away, the more anxious and worried I felt. I wanted nothing
