Maranda It was around eleven when I was finishing up cleaning up from breakfast and getting the last of the laundry folded and ready to put away. Both kids were finishing up cleaning up their rooms so they could go to the zoo. It was my way of keeping them busy, so they didn’t ask me every five minutes while I waited to hear back from Tiny on what time he would be back. Just as I was about to walk upstairs with the last of the clothes, my phone notification went off, letting me know I had a message. ‘You still up for doing something today?’ Smiling, I responded. ‘The kids are asking to go to the zoo.’ ‘Sounds like fun. I will be back in thirty.’ My smile grew. The day was going way better than I thought it would. The kids seemed to be ok with the idea of Tiny coming into our lives. A
