A Night Out
(Esha’s POV)
The morning sunlight poured through the kitchen window as I sat across from Cassandra, sipping my tea. She was in her usual animated state, hands flying as she tried to convince me to join her on a weekend trip to the mainland.
“Come on, Esha,” she pleaded, her eyes wide and hopeful. “It’s just one weekend in Vancouver! We’ll relax, get out, have some fun!”
I shook my head, my mouth twisting into a small smile. “Cassandra, I haven’t left Victoria in two years. I’m not sure Vancouver is what I need right now.”
“But that’s exactly why you need to go!” she said, practically bouncing in her seat. “You’ve been here, tucked away, hiding from the world. You need a change of scenery, a breath of fresh air. Just think about it.”
