Today was the day we said goodbye to my parents. Looking down at my beautiful babies, my heart did a flip flop. I didn't know if I'd ever see them again. It pained me greatly to think like that, but knowing my parents would protect them with their lives also brought me a sense of peace and comfort. As I hugged my mom and dad tightly, my eyes welled up with tears. I tried to hold back the sob that was building up in my throat. It felt like my heart was breaking into a million tiny pieces. I knew I had to be strong for my babies, but the thought of leaving them behind and not seeing them grow up was unbearable.
