“I love you Annie.” The words tumbled out before I could stop them.
Her eyes went wide before they softened, and she rewarded me with one of her massive heart-warning smiles. “I adore you. I can't say the other words yet, but know I really do have feelings for you.”
“I’m fine with that.” I held her closer, feeling so many new emotions taking over my chest.
Emotions that gave me a deep sense of belonging I'd never felt. A different type of happiness I’d never felt before and a contentment I never thought possible.
