The next three days were a big blur of celebrations just as my parents had told me it would be. Everyone was polite and did not overwhelm me all at once, but over those three days I met every single pack member from the oldest to the newest that was in our pack. Gifts for me were stacked from floor to ceiling in multiple rooms. I could not believe the outpouring of love that this pack had for someone they had never met. "your pack loves you because they love your parents. They mounted for your loss the same as they did. Even though they had never met you, you were still bonded to them by the Alpha bond" Elder Micah explained to me as we walked around outside. "So is that how Beta Cameron knew who I was and called for the Alpha and Luna to come home after he met me and Dr. He ry took the blame for calling them. " I asked him to see what his answer would be.Of course I already knew. "Ah so I see you are practicing with your powers The answer is not really a yes or no though. You see the Beta knew once smelling your blood that you were definitely a royal, however he could not come out directly and say so. He knew the smell because of the Alpha and he had been sworn never to teveil that his alpha or Luna were in fact royals because it would put them and the entire pack in danger. Cameron also saw the resemblance. that alone is enough to know who's child you were. it was by pure luck that Nathan was with him and that he was your mate. Had that not been the case your. father may would have had to declare war against your old pack of they had refused to give you up. But Beta Cameron used his head and his knowledge to safely get you home and to get your parents home without a lot of problems in between. That is what our Betas are for. They can predict how their Alpha will react to a situation and what the outcomes would be with each scenerio. They then will use that knowledge to pick the best way to proceed with what needs to be done" He explained. "So like Zade does with me" I asked. "Exactly. Zade knows you the best out of everyone including your mate. He never has to read your mind because he already knows what's on it" Elder Micah explained some more. "You knew all along who had me, that was why you knew who I thought my mother was so why didn't you tell everyone" I asked. "It is not my place to interfere with one's destiny. I knew exactly who she was and who you were, but everyone including you had to find out when it was time. That alone s the thing about seeing glimpses of the future, no matter what we may know will happen, we can't interfere with destiny. Those who have tried, who knew a loved one was supposed to die and tried to stop it had severe consequences that followed and the loved one still died. It made the event a hundred times worse for the one who tried to interfere. They also lost all of their gifts." He explained.
"May I borrow my daughter please Micah? You seem to be hogging her" Alpha Lucas asked smiling at me. "Oh, well I'm so sorry Lucas by all means, she is yours" Elder Micah said as he kissed my cheek and excused himself. "It's a pretty night, care to take a walk with me?" He asked. "Sure, it can I walk Jade? I'm sure she needs to go to the bathroom and to stretch her legs a bit" I asked holding her leash that I got for her earlier. "Sure" he said as we went to get the pup. The dragon was still asleep. With the vet's help we turned a newborn incubator into a little cave for him to sleep and stay warm. Jade met us at the door ready to walk. I hooked her to her leash because there were still a lot of guests still around for the celebrations.
As we walked down a path, I looked at the stars, and listened to the different creatures in the forest. It was quiet and relaxing. "I want to show you something" The Alpha said as we went further down the path. I had no clue where this path led to so I just followed him . He stopped at a spot in the gate that bordered the territory. Now it was a huge concrete wall. There were things written in concrete and in marker on the wall He pointed to a spot "This is where our Dream was taken from our territory and our world turned into a nightmare. Please Moon Goddess bring her home safely - Alpha Lucas" was etched in the concrete. I read some other messages. "We miss you Dream" "Keep her protected" Other messages said. The wall was full on both sides. Years were dated as time had passed. "Wow. All of this, for me?" I asked curiously looking up at him. There was a bench by the wall and he patted it for me to sit by him. "I had this put up after we found the break in the fence. We found a bottle that had been dropped when Lilly took you out of the territory right here. This was the last place we found anything. The trail stopped right here. I wanted to put a concrete wall all the way around to protect everyone else from disappearing, but your mother refused saying that then we all would become caged animals and that was not fair. Just because our world stopped did not mean everyone else's should too. She did however allow me to do this. As a memorial if nothing else. It was put only reminder really of you. It also helped the pack. They were mourning and in just as much of pain as we were. Not only did they feel the break with you, but they also felt our pain. We about lost put pack the first year of your disappearance. I was raging and your mother was to heart broken to barely function day to day. Pack members were in constant pain. No one had any children that year. It the following two years after. Rogues moved closer and closer to our borders until one day when one crossed over the fence close to the house. Nathan was with the nanny in the yard and the rogue attacked her in bright daylight and right in front of Nathan. The slain body of the nanny was found by Cameron who then found Nathan sitting on the rogues lap playing. This is how we know for sure that rogues do not kill children. Yes it had killed the nanny, that's what they do, but even the rogue had enough heart to keep him safe even though he knew it would ultimately cost him his life. The rogue sat Nathan on the ground gently and then ran. They caught the rogue and killed him, but after that Cameron came to me in my office. He made me see just how bad things had gotten around the pack, and then knowing that he too about lost his child made me realize that I had to fix things. So I started with this" He told me. There were flowers planted around the cement memorial. It was very beautiful. "Well I love it. Thank you for showing me this." I said hugging him which caught us both by surprise.
