Despite being in vampire form, Claude found he had to put a lot of effort into keeping up with Finn once they got up the stairs towards the second floor which, at first glance, looked exactly like the first.
Being a beta meant that Finn Ledger's grey-furred wolf form was slightly smaller than an alpha's. But the second-in-command used this to his advantage, swooping into hallways and making corners in a flash.
The alarm had stopped, but neither of them slowed down. The second floor looked empty, with more boxes and some discarded metal furniture stored in otherwise vacant rooms. The windows here were also bolted closed, the tiled floors clean but stained with age.
