Are you willing?

Lambert pov: I am Lambert, the alpha of Blue Moon Pack. Ever since I was a kid, I didn't have a lot of expectations for MATE. For this, I also found it strange. Later, I concluded that the reason is: I love the pack more than I expect from my mate. That day, I met my MATE at the hunting ground held by Silver Lake PACK. My wolf was attracted to the MATE. But my sanity was calm. I understood that I didn't like her. I reacted to her only because of my wolf's instinctive reaction. To be honest, she was very different from the girl I thought she was. As a powerful alpha, the most significant duty is to guard the pack and make it stronger; I've been working hard towards that goal, and even Bryant was no match for me. As the Luna of Blue Moon pack, she should also be a powerful female wolf and can guard the pack with me. If she is not strong enough, instead, she will become my weakness and will become a weapon for the enemy to destroy me. Therefore, I planned to refuse her, but not now. Cutting off the MATE relationship would be a very hurtful thing for her and me. I was going to wait until after the hunt was over. I must take her to a safe place first. Even though I would reject her, I didn't want her to be in any danger. On the way back, my wolf Caesar was very excited. Caesar: "My mate is adorable, and she smells the best in the world." "I thought I would never have a MATE in my life, but to my surprise, I finally met her." Caesar was thrilled. I told him mercilessly, "I won't let her be my MATE; I will reject her." "No! Why?" My wolf was roaring at me! "Because she is not fit to be my MATE," I said. Caesar was so upset that I could even sense his whimper: "Lambert, you are so cold." "The alpha's first duty is to guard the pack and make it stronger. Everything else is unimportant." Caesar had stopped responding to me. I could sense his sadness, but he wouldn't defy me because we both understand the duty of alpha. The world of werewolves is ruthless; the weak are the prey of the strong. Alpha must put the pack's interests first so that the people in the pack can live peacefully and happily and not be bullied by enemies. Soon, we arrived at the white building. Just as I was about to enter, I suddenly received a summons from the wizard Edith. Edith is the oldest witch in the pack and the hero of the pack. She lost her legs in a great war decades ago. Usually, Edith didn't even leave her room. Before this hunting convention, however, asked to come along. I agreed with her. After arriving at the Silver Lake pack, she kept herself locked up in her room for the past few days. This was the first time she summoned me. I guessed it might be very urgent. I immediately went to her residence as fast as I could. "Edith! What is the matter, please?" I asked politely. "Alpha, have you seen your mate today?" Edith's frail voice rang out. I was slightly surprised but not very shocked; my father had long said that Edith possessed great power. "Yes!" I replied. "What are you going to do?" Edith inquired. "I will reject her until we get back to the pack!" I said as I thought. "You can't reject her!" Edith got a little emotional. "Why?" I didn't understand. Because in my opinion, I had made a very right decision. It was my duty to protect the pack, and it was also my duty to choose a qualified Luna for the pack. Edith sighed, "It's time to tell you something." She continued, "Blue Moon pack, for hundreds of years, every other generation, a powerful alpha would be born. But this alpha would all end up alone, without a mate in his life. He would adopt a child from the collateral bloodline to the alpha name." "These alphas who had no mate in their lives almost always died at the age of forty." "This is the curse of the Moon Goddess on the Blue Moon Pack. It is also the secret of the Blue Moon Pack." "According to the previous rule, you will never meet your MATE in this life. But now you do! Maybe the moon goddess lifted the curse on the Blue Moon pack." Edith's tone grew more and more excited: "So you must not refuse her!" After a moment of silence, I agreed. I left Elder Edith's place and made my way back to the Great Hall with mixed feelings. My wolf seemed to be in a good mood because he could finally have his MATE. When I walked into the Great Hall and saw Bryant bullying Celina, my wolf was instantly furious. For once, I was rooting for him. Celina is my MATE, and bullying her is tantamount to bullying me. Bryant was no match for me. After a scream of pain, he apologized to Celina. Everything reverted to calm. When I looked at Celina again, for a moment, the smiling face of another girl appeared in my mind. It was a strange girl. Just a few seconds later, the girl's smile disappeared. When I thought back to that smiley face, I couldn't remember anything. This unknown, out-of-control feeling left me with mixed emotions. I left the Great Hall, and Celina caught up with me. "Hey, thanks a lot for today!" Celina said with a smile. "You're my mate; I'm supposed to protect you," I said with a frown. "Are you upset about something?" Celina inquired of me. "No!" I wasn't going to say too much to this strange girl. My wolf protested again, "Lambert, you shouldn't be so cold! She is our MATE!" He emphasized, "You have to remember that you promised Elder Edith that you wouldn't reject Celina." I responded, "I remember." I looked back to Celina: "Perhaps, you should prepare." "Prepare for what?" Celina was filled with confusion. "You are my mate; you should follow me to the Blue Moon Pack," I continued. Celina froze; she didn't answer me. "You haven't asked me if I want to!" Celina seemed a little displeased. "Are you willing?" I inquired. She was silent for a moment, with a complicated expression on her face. I expected her to say no, but what came out was, "Yes, of course, no problem." A very different attitude from before? Why was it like that? Did she deliberately get my attention?
