Sydney 's POV I frowned when I checked the time. I hadn't thought that Lucas would be involved in "family matters" until the door was jammed closed with his back to me. I decided to wait outside. I paced up and down the hallway, my heightened senses picking up muffled voices but nothing clear enough to understand. The scent of Alexander's dominant musk seeped through the cracks of the door, growing stronger with each passing minute. Whatever was happening inside wasn't pleasant. Suddenly, the door was forcefully pushed open and Lucas stormed out, his entire body radiating fury, his usual composed demeanor now replaced with anger. "Lucas," I called, but he didn't stop.
