Chapter 26 In the kitchen, taking refuge from the happy, gloating couples in Nash’s living room, I rolled up my sleeves and started on the dishes. It was Saturday evening and Nash and Nathaniel had invited Lou and my brother over for dinner and drinks. I had a feeling this was about me not spending the weekend alone. I’d dissolved Good Ear yesterday, met with the board members and a few remaining volunteers for the last time. My friends wanted to cheer me up, but as much as I appreciated their joined efforts, I really would have preferred to stay in bed with an old Bogart movie. What more did they want from me?
