After Lou and I had entered my apartment, I went around turning lights on. “Make yourself at home,” I said, my nervous voice betraying my outward calm appearance. Lou looked around with a tense smile. She tucked her tight purple Prince T-shirt into her black jeans and nodded, sitting on my funky blue couch. “That’s new, right?” she asked, pointing to the laminated They Live by Night movie poster.
