I sat facing the window.
My mind was racing over everything that had happened.
Nyx couldn’t calm down. She wanted out and paced around in my head.
I heard knocking a few hours ago, but I ignored them. I wanted to be alone.
Food was the last thing on my mind.
Night came, but I stood still, staring out the window.
I sighed as I felt movement in my head, which made me look back.
Nyx’s bright blue eyes bore back into mine.
“Are you okay?” she asked. “You’ve been quiet for hours.”
I stared at her.
“I’m fine,” I said. “I’m trying to figure out what I should do.”
Nyx grunted.
“We need to find out what the hell that alpha and daughter are up to?” she muttered.
I said nothing.
I knew she was right.
