AUSTIN Lou ran for miles before we got to our spot. He laid down and settled by the water’s edge. Lou and I love coming here; it is our new favorite place. It was a lake that we found, which is close to the far south end of the border. It was so peaceful here; all you could hear were the birds in the trees and water. Our favorite place before was the meadow, but we haven’t been there for the last few years. There are too many painful memories there. It was my mother’s garden. She used to take me there when I was a child. My father had it made for her; it was somewhere where she got to plant all the flowers she loved and even some known worldwide.
