Leo worked in silence, helping me clean the brushes; when I looked up at him, he only smiled.
I narrowed my eyes. “What is it?”
“We’re not done here.” He peered closely at a paintbrush. I grabbed it from his hand. “Anxious are we?” he asked.
“Should I be?”
“I am.” He shrugged, taking my hand, and wrapped it around his arm.
“Gods,” I laughed. “If you’re nervous, then I don’t know how I should feel.”
“I said, anxious, love, there’s a difference.”
