Katrina  I scrambled toward the door, heart thudding. There was no fear, though, only an intrinsic, single-minded need to go to the call. It was a tug; it led me, instincts overcoming all else. The hallway was filled with a seeping cold that seemed to come from the walls themselves. Goosebumps prickled, and the stones shook. Still, I ran. I ended up outside a door not far from mine that looked like any other. Darkness seemed to take form and p.ulsate from the cracks. I placed my hands on it, and a strange jolt skittered up and down my body, twisting my stomach. But still, the fear in the back of my mind I knew I should feel did not arise. A frustrated growl turned to soft whimpers until they were silenced entirely, and the only thing was a strange rattling sound against stone. I
