Aron was able to locate where they held Ember, but what welcome him was an empty cell. The walls were destroyed, and all that was left in the air was Ember’s lingering scent, and there was something more, something not familiar to Aron.
He was forced to go back to his human form so he will not stir the attention of the hunters.
He needed to find Ember and get her to a safer place, and he also needs to make sure that she escape that cell, and was not forced out of it.
