Naomi Atticus and I were perfectly comfortable on the couch in the living room. He had brought the picnic basket with him, and it now sat on the coffee table. I watched as he pulled out the dessert, he had packed for us, and I smiled. “Double fudge chocolate cake,” I murmured as I eyed the slices that had been carefully placed in a container. “Your favorite,” he said, and I blushed. When Corey and Daniel had been visiting, they had teased me relentlessly about my secret addiction. Clearly, Atticus had taken note. “Thank you,” I whispered.
