Naomi “So, we will be starting outside,” Alastair informed as he paced the small space in front of the shed. Atticus stood leaning against the shed doorway as he watched his brother read from his notebook. I stood a few feet away, watching Atticus but pretending to be watching Alastair. “The roof is the first thing on the list,” he continued. “And then?” Atticus questioned, and I caught him smiling even though he was looking at the ground. Was he aware that I was staring at him? I had to stop; this wasn’t at all professional. “And then we’ll take care of the gutters, the outside paintwork, which includes windowsills, frames…porch…railing…so on and so on…” Alastair paused for a moment and then he nodded. “Right and then once all of the painting and fixing has been done, we’ll get started
