Naomi I was shocked into silence as we entered the private room Atticus occupied. The first thing that hit me was the whiteness of the room. Everything was white from the ceiling to the walls to the floor. The steel hospital bed took up most of the room, with a board behind the bed that looked oddly out of place but clearly had a purpose. The two chairs that sat in the corner were the same as the hard chairs in the waiting room. The second thing that hit me was the smell. The antiseptic smell wasn’t unpleasant, but it wasn’t exactly nice either.
