Erik As I headed toward the room my grandfather was staying in, I tried to push thoughts of Naomi from my mind. There wasn’t much I could do for her, and I hoped her friends would keep her safe. As I neared the room, I heard Eugene's voice and, for some reason, I slowed down and listened in on their conversation. “He is trying,” Eugene said, and I wasn’t who he was referring to. “He needs a family, Eugene. You have to help him,” “I did. I am!” he exclaimed and I sighed softly. Clearly, they were discussing me.
