Raven stumbled back, her heart pounding. “What? No. You’re going to live,” she said, her voice cracking. “You’re the Moon Goddess. You can’t just… die.”
Damien stepped closer, his eyes full of worry. “We need to get back,” he said. “Selene’s probably destroying everything. Our wolves need us.”
The Moon Goddess lay weakly in the soft glow of her realm. Her light was fading fast, her breath growing shallow. “My final spell paused time in your world,” she whispered. “Nothing is happening right now. Your wolves are safe for the moment.”
