The cave was cool and damp, the walls lined with jagged rocks that glistened faintly under the dim moonlight seeping in through the entrance. Cora was curled up against Jasper, her tiny body tucked into his side, breathing softly in deep sleep. His arm draped protectively around her, his fingers absently tracing shapes on her back. Miranda stepped inside, her boots making barely a sound against the stone. She exhaled quietly, shaking off the tension from her patrol. “I don’t see anything out there,” she murmured, her voice low but firm. “But I can’t shake the feeling that something is close.” She turned toward Jasper, eyes sharp. “I need you to stay alert. We may need to run out of here quickly.” Jasper stiffened but nodded. “Miranda, should we mind-link Alpha Damien again?” “Not yet,”
