Dodd was easing his foot off the gas pedal, because he had caught a glimpse of the colonel's truck when he sped past and was not surprised when he heard a loud collision and then he came to a full stop, before making a u-turn and rolled towards the captain. The scene he saw left him in awe. If he was in doubt of the captain's skills, it sure was just laid to rest. What he saw was like a movie. Having been rammed by the captain's truck, the Lexus was standing on its sides, the passenger and the driver clearly unconscious or dead.
