As we got closer, I heard an explosion. As I got closer to the abandoned building, I saw six adults, three males and three females, one heavily pregnant, run out of the building followed by five children. One of the males looked around.
“Go back for her”, the pregnant woman tells one of the guys. Who are they talking about? Why are there kids here? That’s when I hear the guy scream for my mate.
“Yashira”, before I even knew it, I was running in the building right behind the guy. I shift into my human form. The guy stops and looks at me.
“Alpha” he bows.
“My mate. Where is my mate?” he looks at my neck and his eyes widen and points to the stairs. Without thinking, I ran down the stairs, and I saw my mate lying on her side. I put my hand on her shoulder and her eyes opened
